hey all,

Im in localisation zone at the moment - Douglas has been doing a lot of
work on this, and I have been working on Finnish and French
localisation, but more on all this in the next days...,during the last
days however i had pause to think about a few things including
Workbooks. This was inspired by a meeting with Cara (the book maker that
will post some material to the list tomorrow for feedback)...

I was wondering if we could start putting together some work books based
on the manuals we currently have? The Command Line book, for example,
would make wonderful material for a work book...each chapter could be
followed by a chapter with exercises in it...

anyone interested into putting something like this together? we could
start a workbook category and put some workbooks there...an ubuntu
manual would also be good material...also the Digital Foundation
textbook ( and we have others that might also be formulated this way)...

the good thing is that we can build a work book by including chapters of
existing manuals and adding extra chapters. We could, for example, make
a new 'manual' that mirrors the Command Line manual, take out many of
the later chapters, and then add the workbook exercise chapters...

we could then start targeting some educators and try and convince them
to use the workbook/manual in courses...

anyone keen?

adam
