[FM Discuss] How to translate untranslated software strings [ardour_de]

Dear Discuss-List Members,

Some strings in ardour are still untranslated (for example: edit modes).
If I translate it, the users may no find it looking for the german translation 
(Bearbeitungsmodi). If I leave it untranslated, it counteract the act of 
tranlation, isn't it? But maybe the localization don't follow my choice in the 
next release.

How would you solve this issue?
