Undoubtedly, facebook has a lot of fancy features, but is NOT free,
and his terms of use are abusive. Having a freecommunity it's a
great idea, but we could use a social network more concerned in
empowering, not abusing his users.

Said this, i propose using the new cloud community service of
status.net, i've seen another great Open Source communities like
Mozilla developers, wikihow, and many others, are using this to bond
more friendly his members: http://status.net/whos-using-statusnet
