My I'm Mick and I hope I can help you. Also, it would be great if anyone else on the list who is looking for help could introduce themselves too. Personally, I'm just about at the stage of looking for feedback on a manual that I've been working on over the summer. It's about learning to code using a js code framework but aimed at super beginners and particularly young people and their families. There is a draft here. http://write.flossmanuals.net/learn-javascript-with-phaser/_draft/_v/1.0/introduction/ It's in two parts really and I'm hoping to have the first part ready for review within two weeks. If you were interested in helping just email me and I'll send you a link to review / subedit with it's ready. Apart from that what areas of Free Software most interest you? Perhaps that can help find a project. Many Thanks Mick On 01/09/18 08:21, Dharitree Joshi wrote: > Hello everyone, > > I am Dharitree Joshi. Yes, I will be glad to work with you for reviewing and editing your drafts. I went through Phaser software, it is indeed interesting. I must say the drafting that you gave the link for, looks very well written. Please do communicate about how we can go further with your work. Looking forward to hearing from you, Regarding my interests, I shall be particularly keen on Bioinformatics tools and in developing learning material in the areas of Molecular biology, plant science, bioinformatics. I don't really have the time these days to do a full line edit of the kind you are requesting, but I wanted to say that I've looked through the first few chapters and the overall structure (of Part One), and it seems like a really great style/tone and approach for your audience (I also get that you're not inventing that approach whole-cloth, but all creativity involves borrowing ?). I am rather an anti-fan of JavaScript personally, but I certainly acknowledge its essential role in web apps, and i appreciate all of the platforms now available, like phaser, as starting points. I definitely appreciate your general approach to learning game-code. As you may recall, I started my own engagement with the Floss world expressing great skepticism about the role of static manuals vs video tutorials, in today's world. That's certainly lessened, to some degree, after writing/rewriting two Floss manuals and then all the work I've done more recently for the VA (US Gov't Dept of Veterans Affairs), which has involved a fair amount of static guides along with a ton of more dynamic/immersive eLearning content. But a really engaging writing style seems crucial to the success of what you're doing especially -- a static-manual intro to coding -- and I think you've got it. Maybe I'll consider taking my 12-part video series on coding a particular Unity gaming scenario and redoing it in Floss-land. I dunno. The static manuals I've seen for Unity have been deadly affairs, compared to the video tutorials, but your approach gives me some new ideas. I'm glad it may give you some ideas. I do think that the combination of static docs and more dynamic tools like code playgrounds (as in this manual) and videos can work well. In this case I used Codepen for part one which I was not totally happy with, but together with a local volunteer we have found a good alternative in Glitch. https://glitch.com/ Thanks Mick On 15/09/18 19:32, M R wrote: > > Mick: > > > I really love the style of this text?from what I've read so far.?
