I'm not sure that speed matters that much.  The time to import is
minuscule compared to the time it takes to edit the book, and there
aren't that many wikibooks that are worth importing.  We're looking at
saving, perhaps, 3 minutes each on 20 books.

If the point is to give wikimedia an epub export option (which would be
good), then the testing focus should turn to the epub reader experience.
 Espri is forgiving of things that reading devices might not be.
