I'm assuming the pagination would be the hard part, as unless you render the whole book, you don't know what page would the chapter start on. Maybe that's another variable you enter there, but its fidelity is questionable. 

A possible other way of streamlining dev on chapters would be to make the TOC link to the chapters in the PDF, making  the navigation and inspection of the book faster.
