hi,

A very quick update.

 * Manual Home Interface
Currently Aco and I are working on overhauling the interface for
managing the manuals. Essentially we went though the notes the Inkscape
Book Sprint team had made in trac ( http://adam.engagetv.com/trac ) and
then mocked an idea up as a png. You can see it here:
http://adam.engagetv.com/trac/attachment/ticket/30/manualmanagerplugin.png

The idea is to give much more control over to the maintainers for
managing each manual and to make this a 'live' interface. In this regard
we will add an active progress bar so you can see how much of the manual
is complete at a glance. Additionally you will be able to set workflows
on a per-manual basis, see when a page was last edited, and see if
someone is editing it as you look. These features are designed
particularly with Book Sprints in mind so a team (in realspace and
remotely) can co-ordinate.

 * FM Redesign
Lotte has been working on some redesign of FM. I won't talk too much
about this because I'm interested in your comments, then we should
discuss on the list. You can see a few mock-ups here (look at the
attachments to this trac page):
http://adam.engagetv.com/trac/ticket/64#preview

* OLPC / Sugar Book Sprint
We are going ahead with the OLPC / Sugar Book Sprint in Texas this month
(aug 24-29). We can just about cover costs... (with luck and good
management the new plugin Aco is working on will be done in time for
this).

* FM mini summit
Aco is coming to Amsterdam so we can discuss the next phase of FM dev.
If anyone is in town Aug 15-19 and has ideas then let us know and we can
meet for coffee!!

* TWiki meet
I'm off to represent FM at the TWiki meet in Berlin, sept 4/5. Anyone in
Berlin ad want to meet up let me know...

* FM Operations Board
I am going to step down from the FM operations Board (not the same as
the advisory board) and implement a board of 3 people for FM. This is
for purposes of transparency and meeting all the legal requirements for
foundations in the Netherlands. It won't (with luck) effect my role in
FM. I'll announce more when there is more news.

* Adams Movements
I will be in Amsterdam until the end of Sept and then Oct + Nov in NYC.
If anyone is in either of these towns then let me know, it would be good
to meet for coffee :)
