hey,

i think we might have an interesting new possibility for Book Sprints - essentially
taking existing manuals and turning them from documenting closed software to
documenting free software.

there is a particular opportunity coming up for this for a text book
next year (in feb). Its a design book (published this month so its very
current) that uses photoshop in its examples. the author has asked me if
we would do a flossifying Book Sprint to change all the examples using
photoshop to examples using gimp

it would happen in feb next year in NYC. there is no money in it but if
there is anyone in the nyc area that would like to take part or anyone
that would like to take part remotely please let me know. we are looking
to try and provide accomodation (of the couch variety) and food for
those that come. it will be 3 days or so over a weekend + a friday

in a week or so i can provide more details...in the meantime as a
preliminary showing of hands - is there anyone interested in
participating?
