Hi there,
I wanted to get the debate going on the list a bit about the use of
flossmanuals as a basis for creating courses and lesson plans (hoping that
this might be something we could look at in March)
This is something that I've been thinking about for a while within the
context of a citizen journalist course. Now I've got even more motivation to
do it as sometime in the new year I'm going to be project managing the
delivery of a new qualification (for us and the area) called the Digital
Cre8tor which is designed by the British Computer Society
Details are here. http://www.bcs.org/server.php?show=nav.8945
My plan, and I have the support of my organisation is to deliver the course
using Free Software (unless it's impossible with given resources). Which
would be fantastic!
I wanted to ask the question what additions would we make to the FM system
to use as a basis of teaching such a course?
The scope might be different based on the following factors.
a) if FM is used only to provide follow up material to lessons delivered
b) if FM is also used as a repository for learning activities associated
with Free Software
c) if FM is used a one size fits all system with abilities to combine
resources and activities to create lesson plans and notes for print out.
Which would therefore allow you to design and deliver a whole course using
the system.
All thoughts on the subject are welcome.
Mick
