Tell us what functions you need, and we can start trying out software for them.

We can do a conventional manual with a multimedia content bundle. It
would be more interesting if we could create an interactive electronic
document of some kind, where the text and illustrations connect with
some powerful toolset like Scratch or Etoys, which can do video
processing under program control.

We need to think about a new architecture for the documents and the
server in any case, to support digital textbooks for One Laptop Per
Child. They need a video course to go with their built-in video
camera, but it should start at elementary or middle school level. One
of the purposes is to get children to record their local cultures,
languages, and living history.
