And to also reinforce that choosing to use a distribution method as
closed as iTunes / iPod(video) / ITMS is essentially endorsing the
closed system. In my experience once people realize that they have to
encode and host things at least twice (in order to cover closed
systems and devices as well as the rest of us) they tend to look at
these issues a little more closely.

Blip.tv is good site that integrates well with Miro, Creative Commons
licenses, and the Internet Archive. It also offers a greater range of
format options compared to YouTube / ITMS -- including ipod compatible
formats.
