[FM Discuss] twiki

hi,

just a little bit of news. TWiki, the platform FM is based on, has
forked its code base. There was a struggle internally for control of the
project. I was voted onto the interim governance committee a few months
ago and I tried to help smooth it out. However the wounds within the
community were already too bad it seems and midway into the negotiations
the other party (TWiki.net) announced that they were taking control of
the project.

Its a long story...but I thought we did have a chance of stopping the
fork until this announcement.

Anyways...it was an interesting experience. 

As for FM. Aco and I will keep an eye on each development and decide on
the best one to go with purely on technical issues. We won't upgrade the
internal engine until we are sure which way to go (although we will
continue to improve FM via the plugins Aco has written).

We had no plans to upgrade the TWiki engine in the next months anyways
(don't fix something that ain't broke), so it has no real effect, but
just fyi.
