Hi Everyone
I am pleased to tell you that FLOSS Manuals won the 2008 New Zealand Open
Source Award for "Open source use for community organization".
The award ceremony was held in Wellington,NZ on Wednesday 24th september,
and I had the honor to attend the occasion and represent the FLOSS
Manuals. It was a great opportunity for FM to be introduced to the
audiences which also included some big players in IT industry like Novell
and Google. Apart from collecting the trophy, I managed to do some
networking and explain the FM potentials and its activities in different
area, to other people. I also mentioned that FM has recently started
working on developing Non-english speakers' communities and providing
manuals in languages like Farsi, Bengali, French, Finish and Hindi. But
above all, the fact that had to be acknowledged was the hardworks and
great efforts of Adam whose passion and enthusiasm is an inspiration to
all of us, so I dedicated the most part of my speech to talk about what
Adam has done for FM for the past two years and this achievement was truly
his.
so;
Gongradulations to you Adam and the rest of the FM community.
Regards,
Ali
