I'm impressed that both Ed and Adam said they've learned something from the CLI book. So did I.

Subject: [FM Discuss] CLI Glossary
I got from the start to the Advanced section, adding terms and
definitions to the Glossary, and I am knocking off for the day. That
leaves text editors, scripting, and appendices to be covered. I intend
to leave editor- and language-specific terms out of the Glossary, but
I still plan on taking a quick look.
This is the book I wished I had something like 12 years ago, when I
first got to the Yellow Dog command line on a Power Mac. Every other
Unix or Linux book I have used has selected topics by tradition, not
usefulness now. I learned a lot today, and plan to go back and learn
more.
