Hey,
I will first introduce myself, my name is Austin Martin. I guess I should
say how I got into FLOSS. The basic reason boils down to the fact that I
didn't want to have to pay for, and couldn't pay for things like Photoshop.
(Being as young as I am) Later as I started getting into Freeware and OSS,
but only for the monetary side, I began learning more about FSF, OSI, and
the general idea of OSS and FLOSS. As time passed, I started to (for lack
of a better word) love the community sense of FLOSS, and the reason for
FLOSS. Which lead me to join some of the communities, some in larger ways
and some in smaller. (Also I've uninstalled most freeware for FLOSS) Before
I joined here, I joined the OpenOffice.org Community mostly working on the
Art Project. I recently joined FLOSS Manuals about 4 days ago. (I would also
like to say that getting started and joining, was extremely smooth/easy.)
Hope to make some great content, and promote FLOSS and FLOSS Manuals.
----
The Topic of the OpenOffice.org Manual.
I doubt I need to say this, but the OpenOffice.org manual is fairly dated.
(as it reflects 2.0) And for such a large application consisting of 6 other
fairly large ones, an extremely small manual. Though I'm new, a large goal
of mine is to tackle that problem.
Good regards,
Austin Martin
