Hello Stephen,

thanks for writing! Your suggestion about desaturating is a good one! 
Indeed the printed version is in black and white. There are some people 
on the FLOSS Manuals list (CC'ed here) who are working out the exact 
changes to be made. However we are still looking for someone who can 
create the GIMP automation necessary to automatically convert the 
hundred or so images in various folders. Would you be interested in helping?
