I have made some progress on the Earth Treasury digital textbook
project, which will integrate Sugar software into materials for every
subject a every age. Issues include funding (by governments, NGOs, aid
agencies); translation (by user communities in many cases); curriculum
integration; and organizing an educational research program to make
the most of this opportunity.

This program is of the essence of Free Software and Free Media, and of
the search for sustainability and human dignity. The plan is to get up
to a billion children talking to one another, and learning how to
cooperate to solve global problems. I cannot think of a bigger issue
confronting us. It covers poverty, oppression, threats to the planet,
the global economy, and war, or to put it another way, Life, the
Universe, and Everything.
