Very very nice project.
I'm begining to read it :)
and the first page 
(http://en.flossmanuals.net/bin/view/DigitalFoundations/TheMetaphor)
i see a screenshot of Inkscape.
More than 600 px.
So, i use the inkdcape-devel which the width of the windows can be less than 
the screenshot in this page.

Here with the mail you can got the min width possible (ok in french) 625 px.
And i use gimp to reduce it in 600 px (the text was a little blur).
