Re-mix competition - "We are what we share"
Creative Commons Australia, in conjunction with ABC Pool and the Ideas
Festival, invite you to creatively interpret the theme "We are what we
share," and upload your creation to Pool. Mash up a film, tweak an
artwork, remix a poem - whatever takes your fancy. The best entry wins
an internship with ABC Radio National to co-produce an episode of the
Night Air, and will be showcased at the Ideas Festival in Brisbane
from March 25-29, and on the Pool and Creative Commons Australia
websites.

When: March 2-23, 2009

International Symposium on Common Use Licensing for Scientific
Literature and Data
Co-hosted by the National Science Library of Chinese Academy of
Science, the U.S. National Committee for CODATA of the National
Academy of Sciences, and Creative Commons China Mainland, this one-day
symposium will review the rationale, practice, and issues associated
with the application of Creative Commons/Science Commons “common use”
licenses to scientific literature and data in government and academia.
The event will also explore the possible implementation of these
licenses for publicly funded scientific literature and data in China.

When: March 25, 2009, 9am-6pm
Where: Lecture Hall, 1st Floor, National Science Library of CAS, Beijing
Cost: Free

MIPTV 2009 Breakfast Seminar: Digital Rights & Creative Commons
This networking breakfast is designed for a panel of experts to
present hands-on knowledge about negotiating cross media rights, and
at the center of the discussion will be a close look at Creative
Commons. Speakers include Donatella della Ratta (Arab Media and
Development Manager, Creative Commons), Ingrid Silver (Partner, Denton
Wilde Sapte), Laurent Kratz (CEO, Jamendo) ; Martin Blakstad
(Independant Media Consultant, Churchfield Media) will moderate.

At our next SF salon, we will hear about CC licenses as they can be
used in international projects to facilitate content sharing and
connectivity across borders. Our three presenters include: The Global
Oneness Project, Global Lives, and Maneno.org. The evening's program
will include presentations, viewings of short film and media clips,
discussion, and mingling.
