I think that the correct comparison is to Wikibooks.
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/WB:FB List of featured books
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikibooks:Card_Catalog_Office All books
For example,
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Parrot_Virtual_Machine
could use some attention. Allison Randall of Parrot and O'Reilly knows
much more about that, and has expressed interest in working with us.
Parrot could also do with a much simpler Howto about using existing
language implementations from http://www.parrot.org/languages, perhaps
starting with a Why Parrot? chapter and a non-developer's guide to
downloading Parrot and various languages using Subversion, and then
various options for using the downloaded software.
I'm interested in this for education in One Laptop Per Child, and for
playing around with these and other languages myself.
I would be interested to hear from others who might find opportunities
for FM within the Wikibooks collection. There will also be license
issues.
