[FM Discuss] OS variables in FM?

Just wanted to throw something out that came up in the Ardour sprint  
discussion. Ardour uses a hell of a lot of keyboard shortcuts, and  
these are different on Linux and OSX. The Ardour devs were interested  
in using variables in place of the actual key commands, so that a  
manual could easily be generated for Linux or for OSX with the exact  
keyboard shortcuts in them (rather than _this.shortcut_ or  
_that.shortcut_). Any thoughts on that matter?
