Adam,
The problem with not adding a book to a Group is that only one author
can work on the book. You could have everyone use the same user id
but then there is no audit trail of who did what, which is a desirable
feature.
The real answer for this, I feel, is to give Booki and Objavi proper
setup.py scripts and better instructions to make installing Booki for
a company easier and more likely to follow company standards. I wrote
a chapter "A Booki of Your Own" in E-Book Enlightenment that describes
my experiences installing the software on a Linux box in my office.
