[FM Discuss] FLOSS Manuals video workshop

Hello,

We had our first official FLOSS Manuals workshop in the center of Helsinki.
This was in the Meeting Point multimedia center of the city library. The
people attending the workshop were library workers who are guiding library
users in the use of information technology and produce content for the city
library's online services.

We used the open software documented by FLOSS Manuals and a light-weight
production model for community media. The participants of the workshop
produced short video programs, which were edited with Kino, Gimp and
Audacity.
There will be more trainings based on this workshop in the Meeting Point.
Multimedia workstations of the city library will be concentrated there. One
of these will be completely open source in the future. This will include
FLOSS Manuals user guides.

A couple of other events coming in the next two weeks:

- A couple of FLOSS Manuals user guides will be included on the next
VALO-CD, which is a CD distribution of localised open source programs for
Windows.
- Next week a FLOSS Manuals translation sprint will take place in the
technical communications programme of the Tampere University.
