[FM Discuss] general call out for help

hi Everyone,

I am currently looking for funding for FM...you might not be aware of
the fact that fm has no employees :) 

I pay the rent from facilitating Book Sprints and put as much of this
into dev as I can, and do as much fm outreach admin etc etc etc as i
can. Aco works for mostly voluntarily (but gets some payment on a
project basis) and Doug gets paid on a project basis if we get
commissioned for some dev...

John Curwood gets a small amount also to do fm admin stuff...

hosting is sponsored and the small amount we make from books generally
goes into buying books to show others what we do...

in otherwords...its a labour of love for all involved (including
you!)...so. To spread the love we need your help.

I am currently applying for funding since our activities are getting
pretty ambitious. Not only have we solved the general and long lasting
problem together of how to build a sustainable community to build great
free docs on free software, not only have we revolutionalised the
process of collaborative book production (Book Sprints), and not only
have we built a paradigm breaking new software (Booki)...but we are also
making this all free (gratis and libre) and spreading the ideas and
tools as wide as possible...

So, to do this we need to grow. To grow we need resources. To get
resources we need funders (and work). And to get funders (or work) we
need you.

I really need one of two things from you:
1. can you recommend individuals or organisations that would support our
work either as funders or who might pay for dev or book sprints or
2. can you supply real world examples of how you see us making a
difference. This could be a personal anecdote or a pointer to
information you have seen where projects make good from our work...

i would be happy to field these answers off list if you prefer...
