I'm no expert, but try the <img src="" width="500"> syntax? Depends on
teh width of the colum - hard to tell on the eeepc, sorry.

Firebug shows that the middle column is 135px wide and that the main
column is 701px wide - but I can't tell if that includes the 135px of
the middle column (and the first for that matter).

But that's teh syntax - use firebug and you'll be able to see that the
above setting works well.. not sure if it's generalizable though
