Mark,

In one of my books I have an Appendix section for more advanced topics
that don't fit into the normal flow of the book.  That might be an
option for you.  Maybe you could put topics like the Calendar plugin
there too.  I really love that feature at work, by the way.  Now I can
accept invitations to meetings without loading the Notes client!  It's
changed my life.
