[FM Discuss] Questions about Digital Foundations in Mandarin(Simplified Chinese) Translation

Hi 

I recently started working on translating on Digital Foundations from English to Simplified Chinese, few problems/confusions came out. Hope some one can help me out here:

1, I signed up to get informed if there's any changes have been make for the translation, but when i click "compare", i will always get some gibberish like "本书是由两ä½�从事数ç". For example, the link below:

Is there any explanation for this? can it be fixed?

2, I realized there are various revision numbers. How dose the default revision be chosen? For example, for Chapter 4 it says "The version you are translating is revision number: 1.17", but few chapters ahead it says "The version you are translating is revision number: 1.16"
How could I know which revision is the most updated one? since i definitely wanna make sure i translate the most updated version
