That would be great Martin!
I've had a look at the manual as is now, and added some notes to the Notes
section.
Maybe you could do the same to give us a bit of an outline of what could be
changed. Here's what I've come up with so far.

Notes for new version
General Questions.
Wordpress is pretty well documented generally - why create a Manual? Who is
the audience?
* hand outs for teaching
* full printed guide for reference
* one stop shop for help for online communities which can be tailored to
their specific needs if necessary

> Installation
It might be good to add in somewhere how to set up a Wordpress 'network' and
what that would involve.
* Installing on a Server - as this seems out of date with version number etc
* Sign up at Wordpress.com - update with new screenshots. Maybe take out
the description of the Dashboard into a 'getting started' section.
> Basic Use Section
perhaps it would be good to add an 'overview chapter' to explain the
dashboard and some basic things.
* Add a Post - currently this is aimed at wordpress.com - but it would be
good to make it applicable for hosted sites too.
* Adding Images - this seems ok, could do with checking and an edit maybe
* Adding Links - This seems ok too - could do with checking and an edit -
maybe new screen shots?
* Creating an Image Gallery - Is this still relevant? is there are better
plug in for this?
> Design
maybe it would be good to move this section up a bit in the menu order and
add a new section about Custom Menus
* Themes - it would be good to have notes for how to install new themes on
hosted Wordpress blogs and how to check they are well maintained
* Widgets -
> Useful Plugins
it seems like we could put a lot of the audio and video content that is
there currently and put it in this section, as there are many more relevant
plug ins now. It would be useful to tell people how to install plugins on
hosted blogs - there is a lot of cross over with how to do this with themes
too.
* Status.net - this is relatively recent but could do with checking and
editing
* Podcast Plugin - this is relatively recent but could do with checking and
editing
> Video
This whole section is probably quite out of date and could do with being
totally re-writen. The sections on embedding could maybe be one chapter
called dealing with embed codes. This could explain about HTML views and
limitations to embedding.
> Audio Podcasting
Again this section needs looking at to see if any of it should be kept or
moved about.
