"What kind of links I would want" - I don't know, this is open to
negotiation, just wanting to feel this out  right now.  Maybe some
attribution at the beginning (prominent if it turned out that I was a major
author) and link to additional info / services at the end.  
 
For the rest "how it would work" see below.  The manual will be 5 times its
current size by the time I am done.  My "WordPress Quick Start Guide" was
selected by MakeUseOf.com as their official Wordpress guide, and I have
extensive revisions planned.
