i think there is an issue of local fixes not be applied to the master. 
that is something that needs to be managed. its one thing to push to a 
separate branch in git but another to make sure that it merges well with 
the master. this is something i am trying to work out at the moment as i 
dont want to make continual local fixes (of the same issue)...

yes but after the source (master) management issues are resolved :)
