Very cool :-) Why not format the PDF so you don't need to cut the paper,
and just use the trimmer to even it up after binding?

Surely it would be quicker to impose the PDF than to cut paper for each
of hundreds of books? See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imposition
