Hi folks,

We've been thinking for a while about some next steps we can take with our
CiviCRM and booki. One of the things we've been thinking about is more
closely linking our training with the book. Thought you might like to know
about our plans...

At the moment we give away a complimentary copy of the book each time we do
a training (which is quite a cool thing to do). We are now looking at
creating an exercise book to accompany the training.

Our trainings are hands on with a laptop. Up until now, we have used our
wiki for the training exercises. Most of the exercises already exist on the
wiki. This works OK, but...

   - it means a lot of alt-tabbing and too many screens open for people and
   they get a little confused
   - it is hard to keep track of where you are on our wiki - it really helps
people during the training to be able to hold something physical in there
hands and say, 'this is where i am in the training exercise'
   - it helps to make a division between 'CiviCRM on the screen, and
training exercises on paper in front of me'
   - people can make notes on the exercise book and it can be a reference
for afterwards (and I reckon psychologists would say this helps people
remember things better, well some (people and some psychologists, anyway :)
   - having something on paper looks more professional and much cooler :)

I've created the book here:
http://booki.flossmanuals.net/civicrm-user-and-admin-exercises/edit/ We'll
be doing the transfer on Friday, and then look at making an exercise book
format after that. I'll take some pictures of the final product in use show
them off here after the training, fingers crossed!

Michael
