hi adam & others,
having said that i could do this, i now realise that it requires more
information about the project than i already know or can find online.
i've listed the form fields that i need input for below, plus whoever is
to be listed as "artists" needs to give their date of birth,
nationality, bio (3000 characters, plus pdf & image can be uploaded),
address & email (there is space in the project details for "people" that
only requires names, then "artists" are entered individually on another
form with more details).

if others can contribute in note-form to the areas below then i can
write it all up & fill in the form. the deadline is 31st which is
thursday so we need to get onto it if we are going to manage it.

perhaps we can continue off-list with those who can help?

_2000 character description_: what is the project about, which target
group & who are the participants (the following draft is 1567 characters):

Booki represents a new approach to publishing, which can be described as
social network publishing: people with a shared interest use the Booki
platform to collaborate online to create open textbooks and any other
publication you can think of. Booki facilitates the production of books
through simple and effective book production tools. With Booki you can
write a book by yourself or with others, discuss your views, seek
assistance from others, translate or reuse content and publish completed
works.

Booki is a purpose-built open source application which was initially
developed as the engine for FLOSS Manuals, an online creation platform
and repository for manuals about open source software. All of the
existing FLOSS Manuals have been successfully migrated to Booki and
there are now hundreds of people collaborating in the creation of all
kinds of books, from software manuals to fiction and poetry, using
Booki. The project is being promoted and disseminated through Book
Sprints - one-week intensive sessions to collaboratively create a book -
and the Bookimobile - a van containing everything required to produce books.

"The new system called "Booki" embodies the skills, tools, and
experiences that the FLOSS Manuals community has gained over the last
couple of years to create a new kind of publishing. Booki changes all by
enabling the production of books on dramatically faster cycles and
reducing the obstacles that get in the way of community and open
publishing."
