Hey all,

Here's some news from the OLPC SF Community Summit last weekend. I
presented the latest books there and people were impressed. The
community is planning an update of their own FLOSS Manuals bookshelf,
which is also included on the laptops in the Help Activity. Coordination
happens here:

As I understood it, they would like to merge the separate books into
one, converting books into sections, sections into chapters and merging
consecutive chapters. I couldn't suggest more than to cut and paste the
contents of the existing chapters.

The #1 feature request would be a more complete translation workflow
including tracking of changes to the original English version since a
translation was made.

Some educators also expressed interest in using Booki to create and
remix lesson plans as well as to organise fiction-writing activities.

A smaller bug report was about a database error as there are two
chapters called "Introduction" in a book and the URI for both is
"introduction", leading to "get() returned more than one Chapter -- it
returned 2!" exception here:

Next up for me is the Books in Browsers conference at Archive.org from
Wednesday to Friday.

Greetings from San Francisco!
Tuukka
