Hi all,

Earlier today, we held a few meetings with our developer and
implementer communities in which we "unveiled" our OpenMRS book [0]
and shared the process used to create it.

To say our community is excited about the book is quite an
understatement. They were universally impressed with the quantity and
quality of documentation we were able to put together in less than 3
days -- a testament of thanks to our facilitators and the process that
has been developed and refined over 30+ book sprints facilitated in
the past. Our project is nearly 7 years old now, and as I was reminded
by one of our leadership team this morning, our new implementer's
guide book is the first "real" documentation we've had.

I'm even more excited to say that everyone is very much on board with
the idea of integrating book sprints to our existing code sprint
schedule. We now have a blocker issue [1] to refine the book and other
documentation just ahead of our upcoming release, which to me is a
great accomplishment.

Thanks to everyone at Google, Aspiration, the FLOSS Manuals community,
and the other volunteers who helped to make last week a reality. I'm
still in awe by what happened, and so proud of everyone's
accomplishments!
