I think the current feature for hiding the book from others is aligned
with this point of view: as long as no-one has a link to your book, you
can control it. If someone edits the book, they must have the link and
thus you can't stop them from accessing the work. To work around the
technicality that they wouldn't expect the book to get hidden and thus
haven't stored a bookmark, I suggest Booki keep a list of all the books
you've edited.

Sounds good. CVS has the concept of an "attic" which fits here: when you
"delete" a file, it's moved up to the attic out of sight but still
accessible, should you ever want to.
