[FM Discuss] Forking an official manual for translation in FM?

I think that this is kind of the same situation with Audacity.

For me, maybe it makes sense to work with the maintainers of these kinds 
of complete manuals to make an edited version of the manual. Something 
that can be printed as a book and which contains self contained chapters 
that can be used as hand outs by educators, and activities which can be 
worked through in a step by step way to reinforce learning.

In this this way the FM community becomes editors, educators and 
translators rather than writers for these software project where there 
is already a 'complete' manual available.
