It would be useful to create what people in the business call a
translation memory, that is, a document showing how common words and
phrases and also technical terms should be translated to preserve
their particular meanings. That way translations will use a consistent
terminology. In some cases, a term or phrase may have more than one
translation depending on the context. Good translation memories can
handle this case.

If you decide to do this, you should let us know when the English or
other source is inconsistent in its usage, also.

Lokalize is a Free Software translation tool that includes a
translation memory. I do not know whether your translators would find
it useful, since I have not used it myself. It is conceivable that
translators would find it helpful to take a chapter, work on it
offline in Lokalize, and upload the result. That is a matter for
experiment and discussion.
