Did you try setting a larger number for side margin? It's not clear what
the margin units are - millimetres?

I wouldn't expect a margin setting of zero to work well. Margins are
your friend when printing, because trimmers used by print finishers to
straighten up the outer edge of the bound book aren't 100% accurate. You
will probably lose a couple of millimetres of paper on top, side and
bottom, at least.
