Hi everyone on the FLOSS Manuals list,

Once a month a team of people meet up to talk about Floss Manuals
project. This came out of the meeting last October in Berlin. The aim is
to spread out some of the tasks that Adam has been doing by himself up
until now and start to make a transition from benevolent dictatorship
model that is quite common in the Free Software world to a more
distributed model.

At last months meeting I said I would do a quick shout out to the list
to explain how to get involved. The process is pretty fuzzy. It is
simply a matter of getting involved in FM, stepping up to help out and
generally joining in. It's not a formal group as such.

Personally if you are thinking about it, I would recommend it. I've
always tried to pitch in to conversations on the FM list and help people
out, and steer groups towards using FM. I've been more active this year
since about May and have been representing FM at a couple events a Book
Type training session and running a pilot programme working in
partnership with P2PU.org. I'm a freelancer and while nearly all of this
work has been unpaid it has lead to other work.

So, I guess the purpose of this email is to encourage members of this
list to get more involved in FM and help the transfer to a more
sustainable community model. The admin group is aiming to meet in
Rotterdam in September to take the process further.

Adam, are there any direct ways people could help at the moment?

nice one
Mick
