that sounds like a good idea - then people could list on their own 
profile which manuals they've contributed to (with links) & in what 
capacity.

i think it is important to acknowledge people in the manual, but within 
reason - a great long list of many names becomes rather meaningless. if 
i have only made a small contibution i don't feel any need for 
acknowledgement, but i guess the definition of "small" will vary from 
manual to manual & person to person. no easy formula!
