[FM Discuss] Manual update time: Audacity 2.0

Seems like there is another manual to coordinate between languages.

We have been planning to do a Finnish GIMP manual based on this old
Creative Commons manual for a very long time, and now it can be done during
the next two months or so:

The writer of the manual is saying that he will not develop it further, but
any wiki can take it and continue developing it.

I noticed that the GIMP manual in English has had some activity in the
meanwhile:

What if the Finnish GIMP manual is a remix of the English GIMP manual draft
+ some parts of the old Finnish manual + some completely new chapters? And
then everything has to be updated and edited so that it fits together.

Does this kind of remixing make any sense at all? And can you combine CC
and GPL licensed materials just like that? Would the end result use a
CC/GPL dual license?

GIMP is one of those programs that actually has an active Finnish language
user community, which means finding contributors is a lot easier. But I
don't think that we could do this right now without recycling and remixing
a lot of old content.

So there would be a lot of stuff to do in a couple of months:

- Audacity 2.0 update
- Finishing the OSM translation
- Booki manual update into a Booktype manual
- "GIMP Remix" manual
- Possibly an update of the Inkscape manual
