[FM Discuss] need more help publishing ...

i have carefully stored the info for updating a manual that's already 
published; but now i need to publish a new manual. the getbook(gears) 
plugin interface says " Warning Only use this for updating books. If you 
are pushing abook for the first time then use the older plugin ('get 
book')" - but where is the older plugin? i tried taking "gears" off the 
url but that didn't work. there is no other option in the admin interface.

is there a reason why publishing is so difficult? i don't understand why 
in the editing interface, there is a tab for exporting/"publishing" the 
manual but this doesn't connect at all to FM.net. shouldn't there also 
be something here for publishing to FM.net & updating manuals that are 
already published ... ???

also, http://booki.flossmanuals.net/ seems to have gone down. i was 
working in it for the last few hours but now nothing is loading ...
