The solution is very simple. If you have created book, made it
"hidden" and want other people to collaborate with you all you have to
do is send them url to the book. For instance:
  http://www.booki.cc/helen-has-a-book/  - to view the book
  http://www.booki.cc/helen-has-a-book/_edit/ - to edit the book

Being "hidden"  just means it is listed on the website for you. It is
not listed for other people but they can all access it if they know
the name of the book (or if they could guess it).

If you want to restrict access to the book to certain people you have
to do some more clicking in the Settings tab.
