Hi Tomi,

> There has been no spammer problem with Booktype so far? I mean Finnish
> site had spam in WordPress and StatusNet, but not Booktype.

Not that I know of, but my concern is that if you provide something like
a link to an 'official' PDF and that is diverted by a third party to
some spam or malware, readers might follow it blindly.

With Kindle etc. the proposition is that you trust the e-bookseller
implicitly not to do this sort of thing. So I don't think there is much
awareness of the possibility of bad ebooks (compared to the awareness of
phishing sites on the web, say).

As we have an open e-book creation system, security economics suggest
that if malware authors can find a way to make money out of bad ebooks,
they will.

> But spam prevention is seriously one thing that Booktype will need
> ASAP, before somebody manages to create a spam bot that is able to
> login. :)

There is a ticket open at http://dev.sourcefabric.org/browse/BK-354 for
this.

Cheers!

Daniel
