[FM Discuss] Rebooting FLOSS Manuals - 2026 - 20 years on.

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well. I have had a little more time on my hands 
recently and have beenreaching out to a few people to helphatch a plan 
to reboot FLOSS Manuals. So I wanted to share a little here in advance 
to invite participation.

At this stage I just want to keep it really short but I'll try to write 
some more expansive blog posts later. So here's a really quick to do list.

1) Audit existing online FM content, and make theirstatus clear, 
archive, current,updates needed.

2) Create a minimal network structure and set of protocols to invite 
participation. Draft of protocols here (please do comment or add

3) Document a small menu of way of rebooting or creating new FM manuals: 
e.g. hugo, MKdocs, wordpress. Either hosted by FLOSS Manuals but 
allowing other groups to adopt

4) Create a minimal community presence detailing a way to get 
involved,how to get help,inviting blog posts, and the dates of on-line 
FLOSS Manuals community calls (every 6 months?).

In terms of a timeline we are looking at a reboot date of 1st of June 
2026. That's 20 years since the first archive of flossmanuals.net -

I am imagining this process to be quite a minimal one not involving a 
lot of changes, and therefore time and effort and in particular 
administration. However if you would like to be involved, especially in 
the audit of existing manuals, input on network / community protocols or 
documenting a process of reviving or creating new manuals please do get
