Have discussed this with Stephanie Hankey, our Exec Director. It is okay for you to use Message in-a-box content or other toolkit content in your FLOSS manual using a GPL license. Please send us a copy and link to this material when it is published.

Please also do tell people where to find all our manuals and guides in Manchester of they are interested.

Cheers
HI Mick,

Message in-a-box is getting a lot of attention from Manchester
these last weeks!

Just so you know as of the end of next week we will be selling
copies at the Alternative Documentation Centre in Manchester
(along with all other guides and toolkits). Please do

ah i know franco and jo jo really well - i'll try to pick some up

As you would know the Message in-a-box toolkit uses a Creative
Commons License. The license used is the Attribution Share Alike
3.0 license (see: http://creativecommons.org/about/licenses).

So this means you can use the content for non-commercial purposes
if you provide proper acknowledgements and you release your own
work under an identical license.

If you want to do anything outside of this, please let us know and
I will need to discuss with the Tactical Tech team.

Right - well ideally - the Floss manuals set up which we are planning to use as the base for our work is a GPL licence. If you could sign us over certain content as that licence it would be great. It would be good to find out if there is any reason why that wouldn't be appropriate and if that's the case I could try to see how we could intergrate the CC content.

Also I'm hoping that this project will help me keep the existing content up to date, and add really useful stuff as well. The idea is to do a course with 3 main parts,

* Understanding the media (including blogging)
* Low cost radio production
* Low cost video production

Thanks for your help!
