Hello,
What do you think about recycling Creative Commons documentation?
Seems like there is a lot of demand for an Arduino book sprint here. I have
been doing a bit of background work for this manual. So far the biggest
problem is that I am very bad at soldering and completely destroyed one
motor controller.
The idea is to remotely collaborate to create the introductory material
about the microcontroller, components and programming, and then have a
booksprint/workshop to document a more advanced construction project.
It would seem completely OK to reuse some of the Creative Commons
documentation for Arduino in this manual. Translated into Finnish, of
course.
http://www.arduino.cc documentation is CC-Sharealike and CC-Attribution,
meaning we could perfectly well use it, since it is reused under GPL and it
just has to be attributed.
What do you think about this? I think that reuse of this CC documentation
could be used at least to get started - probably in the end it is rewritten
so many times it is unrecognizable.
Of course it would be helpful even to translate the documentation into
Finnish without adding anything new...
How do you do CC attribution in FLOSS Manuals?
