Ah, OK.  That makes some sense.

We shouldn't stick too determinedly to epub though, as it isn't and
might never be widely used (I mean, not even Wikibooks could export epub
until Jan did it for them).

It would be good to work out a workable pathway from docbook and TeX,
whether or not it goes through epub.
