a .csd file is an xml-like text file. it can be opened by any text
editor. but Csound recognizes these kind of file and can run them
immediately.
they are much smaller than images. this is the file which i wanted to
upload and could not:

A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
Name: control1a.csd
Type: application/octet-stream
Size: 2214 bytes
Desc: not available
URL: <http://lists.flossmanuals.net/pipermail/discuss-flossmanuals.net/attachments/20100721/71a6f621/attachment.obj>

as you see, it has less than 4 kb, and this is the usual size. i just
produced a really unusual large file, with tons of widgets, and this
has 180 kb.

perhaps i can explain the reason why i asked. we want to include small
examples in the usual way as formatted text, like here:
http://en.flossmanuals.net/bin/view/Csound/CSOUNDLANGUAGE

these examples are in "plain" csound, without any wdgets. but we would
like to give more examples just by a link. either more complex
examples which are too long for putting them in the text, or examples
in QuteCsound, with widgets (they have their own xml tags and are very
ugly to read). then we could refer quickly, having a readable text but
also a good example collection.

best regards -
